My name is Mrs. Oliver, and I am a second grade teacher at Merritt Academy. This is my second year joining the amazing team here at Merritt, and this is my 12th year teaching elementary school. I have a passion for teaching and learning, and have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a child!

I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Wayne State University.  I then completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading at Grand Canyon University.

 

I have been married for eight years, and have two amazing children, Stephen and Charlie. Stephen is almost 5 years old, and Charlie is 3 years old. I love being a mother, and my children bring such happiness to my life!

 

I was raised with two main priorities, food and family. As an Italian, food and family were always very important in my life, and I continue to teach that to my children. There is nothing I love more than sitting around the dinner table with my family.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching football, reading, cooking and photography. I love to laugh, and have fun. I really enjoy spending time with my friends, and I am notorious for always taking far too many photos.

 

I am very excited to be returning as part of the Merritt Academy family this year, and I know it will be a wonderful year!
