Saving Tiny Tim's Home from Erosion!
Science met Tiny Tim this month, with an engineering project that the students loved! Tiny Tim is a turtle who lives in a sandcastle near the coast. He wrote the students a letter asking for their help! His poor house was being eroded by wind and water! He asked if the students could design a structure that would slow down or stop the wind/water erosion. My class was MORE than eager to take on the task! They planned, designed, built and tested out structures that were specifically geared at slowing down, or stopping, the wind and water erosion. They did outstanding jobs, and you'll be happy to know that Tiny Tim is now safe! Here are some images from the day we tested the structure they built.
